The OSPAs are designed to be both independent and inclusive, providing an opportunity for outstanding performers, whether buyers or suppliers, to be recognised and their success to be celebrated.

The panel discussion is about Best Practices during Covid 19; Success stories, a round table discussion

The panel members were; Ms Rekha Gairola- CFE, ICPS, CRT, Regional Security advisor India & South Asia, Col. Inderjit Singh Barara- Chief Cyber Security Officer, Vara Technologies, Maj Rohit Sharma- Assistant Vice President(Security & Row), Sterlite Power Transmission Ltd, Mr Jeetender Singh- Chief Security Officer, Fortis Healthcare, Mr Pushkar Gokhale-Vice President- Head B2B, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Mr Rajiv Mathur, Regional Advisor, OSPAs

Rohit Sharma starts by saying “I think the last six months were very difficult for all of us but when I go back and think about it, we got a lot of opportunities also in lot of sectors. If I talk about the power transmission sector, during the first lockdown the MHA guidelines were very clear, the power sector was declared as essential service. From the time when orders are given to be executed on ground, there was a lot of gap, the district administration was not ready to take any chances or accept this guideline as the truth and allow us to work and this is where security came in and security was also essential service.

Rekha Gairola says: "When we talk about the new phase of security and how the Covid-19 has changed security, security has always been and is the most integral part of the crisis management team and other management teams. What this pandemic has done is that it has actually challenged our thinking and the way we used to conduct those scenarios in which we used to conduct the CPS. We had some kind of incident in the past which made us plan our business accordingly, this thing of who’s the management was not aware of because it was kind of a sudden global pandemic so there could not be best practices in that point of time."

Col Inderjeet Singh says “While we are talking about security, we see that IT has taken a major role and ofcourse while we’re working from home, IT is in the front while we do everything and we moved out of the networks, it was the most challenging part because how do we ensure business continuity of the company because the business was coming to a standstill. We were never prepared for this type of eventuality and it was a situation where earlier 5% people used to work from home and now 100% of the people work from home that means you require the complete hardware other than the servers of course.”

The full discussion was carried out by the panelists later on.
