A strong professional network can help aspiring entrepreneurs to achieve things that they can never accomplish on their own. In fact, at the recently held Women Entrepreneurship Summit and Awards 2020, there was a special session which deliberated on the importance of business networking for women entrepreneurs. Titled ‘Girls Club: New Ways of Business Networking’, the plenary session chaired by Stuti Jalan, Founder and Managing Director, Crosshairs Communication, reached a consensus that there should be a regular discussion which the women entrepreneurs can be a part of.

Amrata Sirohi, Co-Founder INDwealth, “Contrary to the popular belief, networking is not that easy for women because we hold back a lot of things. We may have various reasons for doing that and often we feel that we are not ready for a certain job even when the men think they are. I think for a woman, networking also means building a support system with the neighbors. It is a way wider range for women as against men.”

Sadiya Naseem Founder GlamStudio stated “A lot of them are not very extroverted and are sometimes not able to communicate. For them, networking becomes a learning platform and I suggest they can learn from this apart from reading good stories, watching videos, etc. But ultimately, for being a successful entrepreneur you have to network with people and find ways of networking with the people. Entrepreneurship is gender agnostic. There is a change in the society that has come and we need to make it effective from both men and women entrepreneurs.”

Malika Sadani, Founder & CEO, The Moms Co., “People are now increasingly connected to each other. You have access to the internet, social media where a large part of networking starts from whom you want to connect with and for what purpose. Also, there is a lot of networking groups that has been started where you can be a part of. Every time, thre is a forum for discussion where you can interact with like-minded people. Everyone So it is getting better with the time.

Arushi Verma, Co-Founder, Fitpass “You need to shed your inhibitions and try to network with everyone. You should also know and tell them instantly what is that that you want to connect with them for, whether it is for funding whether it scaling up your business, what are three points that you want to tell the person about your business so that nobody thinks that you are wasting their time and are actually going to remember what you said. There has to be just three hard hitting facts.”
