Hewlett Packard Enterprise is strongly associated with Smart Cities 2.0. Putting smart cities under one umbrella, it will be digital infrastructure connectivity, all sensors and connected devices, data analytics and security.

HP Enterprise signs up a multi-year contract for building and making a fully functional Command Control Centre and integrate multiple solutions. Chandrashekhar G, Country Manager- Network & Mobility, HP Enterprise said, “We have integrated 21 solutions as of now, and we run it for approximately 5 years, or 7 years of operation.”

The company has active footprints in 10 smart cities. The whole project is about close to 84 months or 60 months. The important point is building and integrating the Command Control Centre. There are multiple solutions in each section, and this needs to be integrated where connectivity is a vital part.

Every city has different problems, and to integrate the solution in every city is a challenge. HP’s objective is to sit with the municipal corporation to understand their problem and then give out a solution. Initially, they see the connectivity, and the data dashboard HP has put over.

Data requirements for police and municipal corporation are different. HP is working on different requirements in Thane and integrating both the requirements into a single dashboard.

Security is important, and it keeps on evolving. 70 to 80 per cent smart cities that have implemented the security solutions are secure because nobody else can view that data. The data cannot be taken out of the data centre and the command control centre. HP Enterprise works on keeping the data intact, making sure the data is not leaked anywhere outside.
