At BW Education presents Future of Management Education Conclave 2019, Secretary-general of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Dr Pankaj Mittal bring up to date projects and duties are done by the organization on November 12, 2019, at New Delhi.

Describing a few of the major decisions taken by the association in the recent past, Dr Mittal said, “We are trying to create a space in the Indian education system, where the degrees obtained by the Indian students are equivalent to foreign degrees.”

Another remarkable change that AIU has brought is considering the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Master of Business Administration (MBA) as co-equals. She also talked about a similar change in the fellow programs and Ph.D., as they will also be considered as equal.

Recently, AIU has revised the MBA accreditation curriculum to provide better skills and technology exposure to the management students, as Dr Mittal believes, “With changing time, the curriculum in management schools should evolve.”

One of the problems lies in the updating of knowledge at the educator’s end. To tackle this situation, AIU is working towards changing the teaching techniques, which will focus on updating the knowledge and building various skills like leadership skills, etc.

We also work with the idea of flip classrooms offering online learning by Swayam, a government initiative to impart knowledge and skills among the people.

Lastly, she mentioned the need of the hour at a management institution, that is Innovation. It should be in the culture of every management institution to innovate and promote innovation within and throughout.”
