Outstanding Designs Honoured At Future Of Design Awards

Interior designer Gauri Khan was honoured with Editors’ choice ‘Design Person of the Year’ along with Bhaskar Bhat, Former MD, Titan Ltd. who received the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, in addition to the 13 awards that were presented to the winners in five different categories at the second edition of BW Businessworld Future of Design Summit & Awards 2019.   

An eminent jury had to decide the winners from 80 entries across six different categories, shortlised rigorously from 150 entries. The jury evaluated the entries on key aspects such as sustainability, functionality, aesthetics, innovation among others. 

The categories for design awards were Space, Craft, Technology, Lifestyle, Product, and Visual. However, the jury found no suitable design worthy of being honoured in the Technology category. The winners in the other categories were:

The awards recognised and felicitated the best prototypes and finished designs by designers, architects, innovators, and businesses. The exclusive design event catered to products from across industries that are touching human lives and making them future-ready.

The eminent jury comprised leaders including Hafeez Contractor (Architect), Pradyumna Vyas (Board member, WDO), Dr. Resul Pookutty (sound designer), Josy Paul (Chairman, BBDO), along with Revathi Kant (CDO, Titan), Pratap Bose(VP, Global Design, Tata Motors) and Srini Srinivasan (CEO Lumium Design & President, World Design Organisation)

The event featured immersive experiences and conversations that helped designers get valuable real-time feedback from the audience, and also helped brands think through the importance of cutting-edge design in product development. Leaders from the fields of Design, Cinema, Fashion, and Commerce led these conversations. 

Some of the speakers at the event were Academy award winning sound designer Resul Pookutty, fashion designer Manish Malhotra, interior designer Gauri Khan, Ashiesh Shah (Architect & Interior designer), and Pratap Bose(Automobile Designer, Tata Motors) among others.
