Welding is more than just joining different materials. It plays a key role in the manufacturing industry and responsible for pipelines that brings fresh water, towers that carry electricity to houses and much more. A session about the importance of welding took place by Gaurav Aneja, Regional Sales Manager of Fronius, at the BW Businessworld Education Engineering Excellence Conclave 2019.

The session discussed the need of more skilled manpower to use the equipment. The advance manufacturing technology creates more uses for welding and expanding opportunities. There is an increased emphasis on certification, to ensure quality. Computer skills are needed to program robots, lasers and systems. More innovative and skilled manpower is needed to weld new types of materials.
