The Union health ministry is set to roll out the 'Ayushman Bhav' programme, which aims to optimise delivery of all state-run health schemes to every intended beneficiary, covering the last mile.

The various activities planned under the programme include Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, Ayushman Sabha, Ayushman Mela, and Ayushman Gram, as allegedly reported by official sources to a news agency.

The campaign intends to ensure comprehensive and saturation coverage of all health schemes. This, in turn, will allow every eligible beneficiary to avail themselves of their benefits, as reported in the media.

August 1 marks the onset of, the intense drive, the Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0, to ensure full saturation, the sources said. So far, Ayushman Apke Dwar 1 and 2 drives have been conducted successfully.

A village-level campaign called Ayushman Sabha led by the village health, sanitation, and nutrition committee will provide benefits of all the central and state health schemes to intended beneficiaries, they said.

These will educate people about the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (PMJAY) health insurance scheme cards and their vitality. It also creates awareness regarding the distribution and generation of Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) numbers.

The Ayushman Bhav programme will also constitute the Ayushman Mela, which will be conducted at the level of Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs). Moreover, under it, medical camps will also be organised at medical colleges and community health centres.

Ultimately, the Ayushman Melas is set to construct awareness of healthy behaviours by providing early diagnosis through screening, comprehensive primary health care services with drugs and diagnostics, teleconsultation with health specialists, and appropriate referrals with a special focus on marginalised people for a continuum of care. Apart from the above, routine immunisation, NCD screening, mental healthcare, and elderly care services, among others, are also part of this.
