Nirmala Sitharaman Meets World Bank President Ajay Banga

On Wednesday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held a meeting with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga to explore opportunities for strengthening their partnership and achieving concrete results at the upcoming G20 Leaders' Summit in September.

During the meeting, both leaders engaged in discussions about India's sectoral priorities, which encompass municipal financing, logistics, water recycling, and renewable energy grids. The aim was to seek assistance from the World Bank Group in leveraging private investments to support these crucial areas.

"Union Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman and World Bank Group @WorldBank President, Mr. Ajay Banga, today in New Delhi. President @WorldBank congratulated the Union Finance Minister for the successful G20's 3rd Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors #G20FMCBG meeting in Gandhinagar," the Finance Ministry said in a series of tweets.
