Adani Wilmar, a prominent edible oil company, has filed a police complaint against a B2B platform for allegedly distributing counterfeit products under their 'Fortune' brand. During a regular market survey, Adani Wilmar representatives discovered this fraudulent activity.

In response to the discovery, the company lodged an FIR through their agency against the B2B platform for the distribution of counterfeit products. The FIR was filed at the Badalpur police station in Gautam Budhnagar District, Uttar Pradesh.

A raid was conducted by law enforcement authorities at the warehouse of the B2B platform, resulting in the seizure of a considerable quantity of counterfeit products bearing the 'Fortune' brand name, which is Adani Wilmar's flagship brand. Among the seized items were 126 pet bottles of Fortune Kacchi Ghani Mustard Oil (1 litre pack) without lids, 37 fake Fortune Refined Soybean Oil (1 litre pouches), and 16 pet bottles of Fortune Sarso Oil (1 litre packs).

Expressing concern for consumers' health and safety, an Adani Wilmar spokesperson emphasised the seriousness of the matter. The company is actively cooperating with authorities to swiftly identify the sources of these counterfeits and take decisive actions against unscrupulous traders involved.

Upon conducting a thorough examination of the reported products, Adani Wilmar identified significant discrepancies in Batch Code details, fake QR codes, and different packaging materials, confirming the presence of counterfeit products.
