Smart Cities Will Be Benefited By Content: Anurag Batra, BW Businessworld

On the 1st of December 2018, BW Businessworld organised it's 6th smart cities conclave and awards in New Delhi. Delivering the inaugural address, the chairman & editor-in-chief of BW Businessworld, Dr. Anurag Batra informed that, BW Businessworld has already done smart cities conclave in 10 different locations and planning few more in the coming years. He welcomed all the stakeholders of the smart cities including CEO's of different smart cities of India.

"Smart cities will be benefited by the content we develop," said Dr. Batra, as he stressed upon the engagement of all the stakeholders of various smart cities. He thanked the gathering for getting engaged in the conclave and also highlighted how IT and ITES are enabling various disciplines of smart cities to be more effective and efficient like other trades have been benefited.

Dr. Batra's address was followed by Nicolas Fornage, regional director, India and Bangladesh for Agence Francaise de Development (AFD) which is a French agency with a huge 12 billion euros budget to support sustainable smart cities across the globe for 2020. Nicolas informed how AFD has decided to pump in some 1.8 billion euros in India. Nicolas said that AFD is focusing on the smart cities mentioned in Indio French Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
