Ayushmann Khurrana Starrer ‘Doctor G’ Sees 60% Drop in Revenue On First Monday

Anubhuti Kashyap's Doctor G movies was theatrically released on 14 Oct 2022 and starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh, and Shefali Shah in the lead roles. The movie revolves around Uday’s (Khurrana) struggles to become orthopaedic, but he becomes a gynaecologist due to the lack of seats in his desired subject.
Although the movie received positive reviews from critics, it performed slowly on its first Monday with a recorded drop of 60 per cent in revenue as it collected 1.50 crore nett. The collective six days revenue figures are around 18.32 crore nett, according to Box Office India.
The report further mentioned that revenue collection on Monday is not good enough, especially for a film that has a concept of urban-type comedy. The film has theatrically failed but hopes to perform better before its initial release to the OTT platform.
The film is estimated to cover Rs 40 crore plus revenue on its digital release.
On Friday, the collection was recorded as Rs 3.87 crore, followed by Rs 5.22 crore on Saturday and Rs 5.94 crore on Sunday. On Monday, it earned Rs 1.50 crore and Rs 1.65 crore on Tuesday. The total revenue is marked as approx Rs 18.32 crore.
