One of the panels at the 3rd Higher Education and HR Conclave organised by BW Businessworld was entitled as Technologies reshaping the Delivery of Education and Institutional Administrative processes. The discourse of this panel was around the lines that how latest technologies disrupt the delivery of education, assessment and online education to provide a fair ground for all students in any part of the country. The panel discussed how the universities embracing the latest technology have a huge potential to grow as well as ensure better outcomes in Research, Innovations and Learning Outcomes.
The session discussed how the latest technology highlights what institutions can incorporate for creating a World Class University / Colleges. The moderator of the panel was Hoshie Ghasswala, CEO, BW BusinessWorld. Other panellists were Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Tiruchirappalli, Ajay Singh, Business Head- Academic, Cambridge University Press, Dipankshi Mehandru , Senior Advisor, Government Affairs and Public Policy, DELL, Annirudh Kannal, Founder and CEO, Xcelerator, Rahul Aggarwalla, CEO, KNIMBUS, Ankit Bajaj, Vice President, Serosoft Solutions and Sarvagya Mishra, Co-Founder, Pinnacle Works.
Prof Metri talked about how elders used to train younger ones earlier, but now after the advent of new technologies, it is the young students who are teaching the elders.
Ajay Singh drew the attention of the audience towards the consumption pattern of technology and also towards the fact that there is no dearth of content due to technological advancements being exponentially increased.
Anirudh Kannal however said that technology helps in aggregating the content and he emphasized that learning can be fruitful only if it is fun. He asserted that, "Technology alone can't revolutionize the delivery of education."
Dipankshi Mehandru of Dell, however made a very valid point that education of today is economy of tomorrow.
Another panellist, Rahul Aggarwala stated that Digital Inception in schools and colleges have made it easier for teachers and pupils. He pointed out that content is more or less free for educators but its’ usage is a major challenge.
Sarvagya Mishra concluded the session by saying that due to technological intervention smart work is replacing hard work and it has made a lot of changes in the society.
