Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Sunday that infrastructure not only provides convenience but also "employment" opportunities for the people of the country. He dedicated several projects in Hubballi-Dharwad, Karnataka's twin cities.

"Infrastructure does not bring only convenience; it brings employment, investment, and means of earning," Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during a speech to a crowd in Mandya, Karnataka.

India is not only constructing "modern infrastructure," but is also on a mission to construct "social infrastructure," according to PM Modi.

The central government has been building a modern infrastructure for the past nine years, and "this will bring ease of living to the masses," the PM said, emphasising that "good and modern infrastructure makes life easier and dreams come true."

The Prime Minister also stated that when his government lays the foundation stone for a project, he will ensure that the project is inaugurated.

PM Modi dedicated and laid the foundation stone for key development projects in Mandya, Karnataka, on Sunday. Among the projects are:

a) The national dedication of the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway

The project entails widening NH-275 from Bengaluru to Nidaghatta and Mysuru to six lanes. The 118-kilometre-long project was developed at a cost of approximately Rs 8480 crores. It will cut the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from about 3 hours to about 75 minutes. The motorway will serve as a catalyst for socioeconomic development in the region.

b) The laying of the foundation stone for the 4-lane highway between Mysuru and Kushalnagar

PM Modi laid the groundwork for the 4-lane highway connecting Mysuru and Kushalnagar. It is 92 kilometres long. The project will be developed at a cost of around Rs 4130 crores. The highway will play an important role in improving Kushalnagar's connectivity with Bengaluru. The project will also reduce travel time from about 5 hours to only 2.5 hours.
