Tata Power has announced its successful bid for a significant smart metering project worth Rs 1,744 crore in Chhattisgarh.
The scope of the project involves the implementation of smart meters in the Raipur area, encompassing both the city and rural regions, over a period of 10 years. Tata Power will undertake the installation and maintenance of 18.60 lakh meters in this designated area, aiming to bring about a transformative impact on the power distribution landscape.
The project encompasses various aspects, including the design, supply, installation, commissioning, and subsequent operation and maintenance of smart meters at the consumer level as well as at the distribution transformers level. It falls under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and is expected to contribute to a reduction in Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses in the specified area, while simultaneously increasing revenue collection for CSPDCL.
In a statement, Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power said, "We are pleased to announce that we have won a significant order worth Rs 1,744 crore to implement smart metering project in CSPDCL. It is a testament to our execution expertise in delivering high value and specialized projects which are aimed at transforming the power distribution domain."
CSPDCL, a state-owned electricity distribution company, is responsible for providing electricity to consumers throughout the state of Chhattisgarh. This collaboration with Tata Power is anticipated to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of power distribution in the region, leveraging the advanced technology offered by smart meters.
