One of the sessions at the BW Education School Leaders conclave was all about promoting technology and innovation in education. Vinesh Menon, CEO (Education, Skilling and consultancy), Vibgyor Group of schools said that parents involvement is must in child’s overall technological development. This session revolved around discussions about the present state of technological education from a young age.

R Ramanan was previously Managing Director & CEO and member of the Board of Directors of CMC Ltd., a subsidiary of the globally acclaimed Tata Consultancy Services. Ramanan led CMC’s rapid transformation from a domestic government organization to a global IT systems engineering and integration organization. He stated in the event that he got the real meaning of technology and innovation after working with TCS. He said it is very important for every parent to be updated with the technology because that makes a difference.

Bhupinder Gogia, Principal, Sat Paul Mittal School, Ludhiana started with how she transformed her career after her marriage.

“We should not define the work in geographical boundaries. If you want to make a student future-ready then you need to work on teachers.”

“As a child, I used to make fun of teachers for not bringing anything new but now I realise that it is very difficult to make this change.”

“With the help of technology we can record good work done by teachers and appreciate everybody equally without any biasness,” she added.

Mr. Vinesh Menon stressed the fact that if parents are aware about technology and innovation they can make a lot of difference.

“An urban child knows each and everything about the usage of the phone but the child of an agriculturist barely knows about all features except that is used for connecting people or calling purpose. Technology awareness can make a change in the education system as well as in the life of the people. Even a low scoring student can create brilliant ideas.”

This conclave organised by BW Education, a verticle of the parent company BW Businessworld aimed at bringing leaders in the field of education under one roof and creating a free flow of ideas among them. It was a platform dedicated to ideate and find solutions on education problems persisting in the country.
