On December 19, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi will appear before a magistrate court in the National Herald case. And as the date approaches, Congress has been obstructing Parliament claiming that this is a case of national vendetta. In fact, the Congress Vice President has said that In Rajya Sabha, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad accused the government of manipulating the Herald case. In the Lower House, there was a war of words between Congress's Mallikarjun Kharge and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu. While Kharge alleged that government is indulging in vendetta politics, Naidu accused the Congress of threatening judiciary through Parliament.

BW Businessworld surveyed citizens to see what they felt about this high profile case. The response was a mixed bag as some thought that the Gandhis were being targeted and others said that India should have a low threshold for corruption, irrespective of the people involved.
