Deepak Singhal, the Executive Director and Group CEO, Consumer Goods of Tolaram Group based in Singapore, exemplifies the increasing influence of Indian professionals in the global arena. Singhal's remarkable achievements have garnered recognition, including Nigeria's highest civilian honor, the Order of the Federal Republic at the National Honors Awards. Singhal's journey from humble beginnings in Kolkata to leading Tolaram Group serves as an inspiring tale of ambition and success. After completing his education at St. Lawrence School and St. Xavier's College in Kolkata, Singhal embarked on a career path that led him to Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), where he started as a management trainee in 1997. Seeking new opportunities, Singhal ventured to Nigeria in 1999 and joined Multipro Consumer Products Limited. 

Singhal's talent and dedication led him to COO at Multipro, then CEO at Dufil Prima Foods, where his visionary leadership elevated the company and Indomie Noodles to tremendous success in West Africa.

Under Singhal's guidance, Tolaram Group expanded its operations and diversified its product portfolio, establishing itself as a major player in Nigeria's consumer goods industry. Singhal's strategic approach was recognized by the Harvard Business Review in 2018, which highlighted the rise of Indomie Noodles and its relevance to Nigerian consumers. 

Singhal's impact extends beyond the food and beverage category.  He has led the company to grow globally and by successfully leading joint ventures with global conglomerates like Colgate Palmolive, Kellogg’s, etc. introducing innovative personal care and home care products to Nigeria.  

In 2022, the then Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari bestowed upon Singhal the National Honors Award, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to Nigeria's business landscape. Singhal's achievements are representative of the broader trend of Indian professionals making a significant impact globally. Their expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication are driving transformative change in various sectors.
