A Solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow over the Earth. Solar eclipses occur on a no-moon’s day and usually mark major shakeups in high-ranking authorities. Eclipses have an important place in Hindu mundane astrology and their effects are felt within a few weeks. Eclipses also affect the careers of politicians, actors, sports persons and powerful corporate bosses. The placement of the Sun in their individual chart and the running dasha sequence indicates the intensity of the impending danger.

This year the first solar eclipse will take place on 20th April 2023 at 0705 hrs IST in the sign of Aries and will remain till 1245 hrs. This eclipse will be visible only in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines etc and won’t be visible in India. In this write-up, I’ll explain the effects on India, Pakistan and major political parties.

INDIA

This eclipse is going to affect the 12th House of India foundation chart and the exchange of 1st and 12th lords may bring out some financial scams from foreign lands, especially from Australia. The affliction to Mercury at the time of the eclipse may give volatility to stock markets and exchange rates. The Indian rupee may touch new lows in the coming days after the eclipse. The running dasha of Moon-Ketu also indicates an increase in ongoing pandemic cases but will subside soon by June/July 2023. The entry of Jupiter in Aries on 22nd April may give in rise to various variants of Covid-19 but only for a short duration.

BJP

In the ruling party chart, this eclipse will happen over the 11th/5th axis, along with the adverse running dasha of Moon-Saturn, indicating a major dip in popularity in the coming days. Some of its prominent members may face serious corruption charges.

CONGRESS

In the principal opposition party chart, this eclipse is falling over the 2nd/8th axis which along with unfavourable Jupiter-Rahu dasha indicates serious health issues to top leadership in the coming days. The Congress chart is having 34 samudaya Ashtakvarga points in Aries (the highest in the chart); thus Jupiter's transit over it will definitely result in decent vote percentage gains for the party.

PAKISTAN

In Pakistan’s chart, this solar eclipse will take place over the 1st/7th axis; the seventh house has Jupiter in it indicating a change in leadership in the coming few weeks. The Dasha sequence of Venus-Saturn-Rahu indicates the financially tough time for Pakistan and it may surrender some of its parts to foreign powers for want of survival.
