According to reports, the Indian joint venture operation between TV18 and Paramount Global, Viacom 18 Media Private Limited, has secured package 'B' of the Indian Premier League's media rights that serves the digital broadcast for the Indian subcontinent

The package was sold for INR 20,500 crore on day 2 of the tender call, a valuation that increased from INR 19,680 crore on Day 1. The selling price for the digital package amounts to INR 50 crore per match, which however, has fallen short of what analysts had predicted in comparison to TV rights.

TV broadcasting rights for the Twenty20 cricket league were sold for INR 23,575 crore, with BCCI confirming that two different media houses had secured the digital and TV rights.

The overall price has grown more than two and a half times from what Star India paid in the year 2017.
