In response to the recent landslides and flash floods caused by heavy rains, the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corp. (HPTDC) has taken a heartwarming initiative to support tourism recovery. The HPTDC announced a significant discount of up to 50 per cent on hotel room rents in their establishments, effective until 15 September. The move comes after the state government successfully evacuated over 70,000 stranded tourists to safety.

Acknowledging the impact of natural calamities on tourism, the HPTDC aims to enhance the experience of their valued visitors and boost occupancy in their hotels during the monsoon season. According to MK Seth, the President of the Tourism Industry Stakeholders Association, the state's tourist occupancy has been severely affected during the heavy rains that occurred between 7 July and 14 July. However, he assures that the situation is steadily improving, with roads being reopened, and tourists are now warmly welcomed back to explore the beauty of Himachal Pradesh.

HPTDC seeks to reaffirm its commitment to making Himachal Pradesh an inviting and accessible destination for tourists from all walks of life. The special room rent discounts provided by the corporation demonstrate their dedication to rejuvenating tourism in the aftermath of the recent natural disasters.
