Fourth Energy Transitions Working Group Meeting Begins In Goa

The two-day meeting is being chaired by Pankaj Agarwal, the ETWG Chair and Secretary of the Union Ministry of Power at Goa’s capital Panaji

The fourth Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG) meeting which began in Goa on Wednesday witnessed nearly 100 delegates' presence from G20 member countries, special invitees and several international organisations, according to a media report.

The two-day meeting is chaired by Pankaj Agarwal, the ETWG Chair and Secretary of the Union Ministry of Power at Goa’s capital Panaji.

The other attendees at the meeting include Ministry of Mines Secretary Vivek Bharadwaj, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Secretary Bhupinder Singh Bhalla and Ministry of Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena among others.

The report further mentioned the key discussion at the meeting that addressed the problems around energy transitions like the technology gaps, low-cost financing and energy security in the sector.

The diversified supply chains, energy efficiency, industrial low-carbon transitions and responsible fuel consumption were also among the discussed topics in the deliberation.

The meeting underlined the important aspects like universal access to clean energy, affordable and inclusive energy transition pathways.

Meanwhile, according to the report, the discussions in the 4th ETWG meeting in Goa will continue to identify and promote best practices, policies and innovative approaches to inclusive energy transition that were built on the first three meetings held in Bengaluru, Gandhinagar and Mumbai.
