The Startup20 Engagement Group's third meeting in Goa concluded with a groundbreaking commitment by G20 nations to allocate a staggering USD 1 trillion towards the global startup ecosystem by 2030.

The meeting witnessed crucial discussions and strategic partnerships aimed at fostering collaboration and driving the growth and support of startups worldwide.

In a remarkable call to action, Dr Vaishnav urged G20 countries to unite in their commitment to the startup ecosystem. He proposed the allocation of a substantial sum of USD 1 trillion by 2030, underscoring the significance of this investment in empowering startups to innovate, grow, and tackle global challenges head-on.

The Policy Communiqué, a comprehensive document outlining the collective efforts and extensive consultations undertaken by the G20 nations, highlighted several significant action points. These action points include the creation and adoption of a standardised definition framework for startups, the establishment of a network institution to support startups and ecosystem stakeholders across the G20, enhancing access to capital through increased diversification, streamlining market regulations to ease the burden on startups, and prioritizing the inclusion of underrepresented communities within the startup ecosystem. Additionally, the Communiqué stressed the importance of scaling up startups of global interest, enabling them to address global challenges effectively.

The enthusiasm and commitment displayed by the delegates during the meeting reflect their dedication to realizing the goals outlined in the Policy Communiqué. The agreement signifies the Startup20 community's confidence in sourcing startups globally, collaborative funding, contextual mentoring, and international scaling. With this remarkable step forward, the G20 nations are paving the way for a vibrant and thriving global startup ecosystem.
