India To Host Miss World 2023 Competition After 27 Years

After 1996, India is all set to host the 71st Miss World Competition 2023 after 27 years, as announced by Miss World Organisation chairperson and CEO Julia Morley at a press conference in New Delhi on Friday. However, the exact date of the event has not been declared yet.

“The Miss World Organization is pleased to announce that India has been chosen as the host country for the highly anticipated 71st Miss World 2023 pageant. The decision to award India with this prestigious honor recognizes the nation's rich cultural heritage, its commitment to promoting diversity, and its passion for empowering women,” said the Miss World Organisation on Instagram. 

Miss India World 2022 Sini Shetty will represent India at the 71st Miss World 2023 contest while Manushi Chillar was the last Indian winner of the contest who won the title in 2017.

Further, the organisation stated, "“India's vibrant traditions, culture, and history make it a global beauty and fashion powerhouse, with captivating landscapes, iconic landmarks, and warm hospitality. 71st Miss World 2023 in India will promote charitable causes through philanthropic activities, inspiring contestants to make a positive impact in their communities and contribute to society."

2023 is the year of India as in the same year India is hosting many other international summits and prestigious events G20 summit.
