Dr Basu Eye Hospital announced the results of a retrospective observational study conducted by Prof Yamini of Banaras Hindu University, on the use of Isotine herbal eye drops – one of the effective remedies for cataract-induced vision impairment.

According to the statement. the study, which included 308 cataract patients treated between 2017 to 2019, showed significant improvement in uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) and uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA) after treatment with Isotine.

The study revealed that the use of Isotine eye drops for up to three months resulted in a significant improvement in the far-sightedness and near-sightedness of the patients. Notably, 91 per cent of patients in groups 1 and 2 were able to remove their spectacles, indicating a significant improvement in their vision, the statement claimed.

Additionally, the release said that 47 per cent of patients in group 3 experienced a decrease in their glaucoma power, while 61 per cent of patients in group 4 regained their eyesight to some extent

The statement also claimed that the Isotine herbal eye drops have been clinically used for 36 years with a claim to reverse cataract-induced visual impairment and the results of this observational study show that Isotine probably improved cataract-linked impaired vision for distance and near vision through its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and protease activities, reducing lens-opaqueness, strengthening the ciliary muscle, lens-growth and nutrition supply and improving retinal sensitivity.

Founder of Dr Basu Eye Hospital, Dr Mahender Singh Basu said, “We are elated to announce the results of this study, which demonstrate the effectiveness of Isotine Herbal Eyedrops in improving the vision of cataract patients.”

“Our mission has always been to provide advanced medicinal research to benefit the maximum number of people. The positive results of this study validate our commitment to this mission and the efficacy of Ayurveda in treating eye diseases,” Basu added.

Prof Yamini, who conducted the study, said, “The results of this observational study are very promising and suggest that Isotine Herbal Eye Drops may be an effective treatment for cataract-induced vision impairment. Moreover, the testing of eye drops at IIT-Bombay has also proven to be a safe and effective treatment for cataracts. We hope that this study will encourage further research on the use of Ayurvedic medicine in ophthalmology.”
