Instagram Sees Third Outage In A Month

Meta-owned platform Instagram was down today in several countries, according to the Down Detector report.

Down Detector, a website that tracks applications outages said, Instagram down started coming in at around 8.25 a.m. and reached its maximum at around 8.50 a.m.

Following the disturbance hashtag – “intagramdown” started trending on Twitter now X.

According to the website, the complaints of Instagram outages came mainly from Indian cities like Chandigarh, Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Patna, Indore, Nagpur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Imphal.

It said nearly 42 per cent of users faced problems with accessing the app’s feed, 31 per cent faced server connection issues and 21 per cent saw login issues with Instagram during the outage.

This is the third time the popular Meta app has gone down in a month. Following the first and second outages it witnessed. The first time the application's working was disturbed in the second week of July which was likely due to server issues. The second outage majorly hit users across the globe.

Instagram is yet to officially respond to the outage. The application trends worldwide with over 2 billion active users globally.
