It has become more challenging with lots of opportunities. Earlier the work was limited to back-end optimization, however, it is a business of technologist and involves a wider gamut of profiles like front-end optimization, workforce optimization and digitization. The leader should be proficient at managing & leading teams for successful execution of M&A and IT projects with strong people management skills. He should also possess broad competence in strategic management of technical matters with the distinction of launching and driving new IT initiatives, re-designing IT infrastructures and achieving organizational objectives. “

Venugopal Arcot, Head, Solutions Consulting India, Servicenow said “IT team is now the backbone of all Enterprise communications. Consumerization of Enterprise IT is the new CIO frontier.”

Jaideep Verma, CIO, Netmagic, “Email may not be an effective communication channel when it comes to decision making. An effective communicator with exceptional analytical, technical, negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to relate to people at any level of business and management, is the way forward.”

Neeraj Mehta, Head Corporate IT, Apollo Tyres said “Technology is a great enabler and is a reliable driver for Productivity growth. Technology cuts horizontally and can impact all aspects of the business and can be truly called secular.
