Smart infrastructure can improve a city’s environmental sustainability, affordability, livelihood, even business climate, and much more. To make a city smart, it is essential to work on all the aspects with a holistic approach. At BW Businessworld Smart Cities Conclave Ahmedabad, Rakesh Kumar Sahu, IT Expert, Jhansi Municipal Corporations said, “There is a need to improve surveillance, technical operations and transform mobility into smart mobility. Urban development means nothing if the mobility services are not smart.”

But how to achieve such a drastic change in a country like India? Dibya Ojha, Chief Financial Officer, NEC India, says that we can do so by replicating the existing successful learnings for future. Other than that, there can be an investment in skill development and training people to utilize new technology systems. This is essential as tech-led economical model is a sustainable model.”

In the times of a connected world with IoT devices, and in order to create a connected world, we should be careful and not create a disconnecting world instead. Innovation has its own exploitation. Thus, advisors, chancellors, and experts have to brainstorm on how to survive by leveraging tech and not letting it become a hurdle.
