The Next World War Will Be Fought In Cyber Space

Rohit Malhotra, Sr business Manager RSA India& SAARC explains about the much-needed paradigm shift that needs to happen today in our cyber world

Addressing the audience at the BW Businessworld's third edition of #DigitalIndiaSummit Rohit Malhotra, Sr business Manager RSA India& SAARC explained about the much-needed paradigm shift that needs to happen today in our cyber world. Presenting on the ''Detection of Unknown Threats and Reduce dwell time to accelerate response'' he explained that the biggest challenge we are facing right now is the fact that India does not have enough skilled professionals in the country to take care of the new generation of cyber-attacks.

"We need skilled people to understand how to deal with breaches, we need to understand the idea of targeted cyber-attacks," Malhotra said.

Malhotra explained that security attacks are inevitable and will keep on happening. The challenge is that we have to be armed to quickly identify and respond to attacks before they can damage the business.

Talking about the company's vision in his presentation he talked about the need for a digital India Vision for citizens and for governance.

For citizens, the right approach is equality, Convenience, Safe Environment, Opportunity and for governance what needs to be looked into is Transparency, Accountability, and Informed decisions he explained further.

In order to achieve the vision faster, the companies need to do capacity building, electronic delivery through the CSD framework and cyber education for all.

"This is the paradigm shift that needs to happen to fight all kinds of cyber adversities that need to be fought," Malhotra concluded.
