Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled on a two-day visit to Gujarat on 27 and 28 July during which the PM will inaugurate the state’s first greenfield airport – the Hirasar Greenfield Airport on 27 July.

The highly anticipated airport is constructed under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Airport Authority of India and the Civil Aviation Department of the Government of Gujarat.

The green airport is located approximately 30 km from Rajkot near NH-27. It has been constructed at a total cost of Rs 1,405 crore, says the report.

The foundation stone for the international airport was also laid by the Prime Minister. The ceremony took place on 7 October 2017 at Hirasar village, Gujarat.

The Airport at the strategic location on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway is likely to boost the overall progress and prosperity of the region.
