While technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) might be still in a nascent stage in our HR practices, however there are conversations about it being subjected to a regulatory framework at some point.

At the recently held 5th edition BW Businessworld HR Excellence Summit and Awards, HR experts spoke about ‘AI based policy implementation and compliance management’.

Sharing her thoughts on the subject, Namita Bharadwaj, CHRO, Housing.com said, “We use technology extensively in our processes. On the business side we use AI a lot to understand the trends in our category and we modify our App based on the inputs. But on the policy implementation side, we have not directly dealt with these conversations at any stage yet.”

“I don't think we have reached that stage in the deployment of AI where regulation is part of the conversation. Right now we are at a stage where we are experiencing the technology and leveraging its impact on businesses,” stated Megha Gupta, Director, HR, Fiserv

Manomohan S Kalsy, CHRO, United Breweries said that while businesses are using AI to run processes smoothly, AI is yet to become fully integrated.

“In the business that we do, AI helps in managing varied businesses efficiently. It helps us to in uniform understanding of not just policies but our approach to things which are regulatory in nature. Our business is already supervised with a magnifying lens . The only place where AI does not have a role today is the field of ethics. It needs dilemmas to be discussed,” stated Kalsy.
